In an uncanny coincidence, thirty years almost to the day, NorthRiver Yacht Club Tuscaloosa in Alabama was awarded best ‘Executive Retreat in the United States by Andrew Harper’s Hideaway Report. This framed newsletter commemorating the award was discovered hanging in the conference room at NorthRiver Yacht Club only this year.
NorthRiver is an outstanding golf, swimming, tennis, recreational and residential complex and was the brain child of Jack Warner, CEO and Chairman of the organisation known as Gulf States Paper Corporation, now known as The Westervelt Company.
Styles may have changed but the underlying commitment of any Westervelt Sporting Lodge to classic hospitality and a profound sense of place remains constant.
